Pipe Size and Telescope Rod Based Screens

Variperm’s Rod Based screens.Variperm’s Rod Based screens range in diameter from 3/8” Pipe Size to 18” Pipe Size and can range in length from 1” to 40ft. Each rod based screen consists of a set number of rib wires, which are circumferentially spaced and run the full axis of screen, and a one continuous wrap wire which is helically wrapped around the ribs. The wrap wire is welded to each rib wire at every intersection (4000-5000 welds/ft).

Pipe Size Screen has the same nominal inside diameter as the corresponding sizes of standard schedule 40s pipe. Pipe Size Screens are attached directly to the well casing to maintain the same diameter for the full depth of well.

Telescope Screens are installed by telescoping them through the well casing. The diameters of telescope screens allow them to be lowered freely through the corresponding size of well casing.

304L stainless steel is our standard material for screen construction, note that 316L material is readily available. Well Screens should be landed adjacent to as much of the aquifer formation as possible. The Wire Wrapped Screens are manufactured with various shaped and sized slots to match the characteristics of the aquifer. The open area of the wire wrapped screen should be chosen so that water does not enter the well too quickly. This is accomplished by balancing the length and diameter of the screen, and slot sizes of the screen with the desired well yield.
